任國(guó)棟，（Prof.& Ph.D. REN Guo-Dong），男，漢族，1955年11月生，理學(xué)博士、教授，博士生導(dǎo)師。河北大學(xué)特聘教授/坤輿優(yōu)秀學(xué)者、博士生導(dǎo)師，國(guó)家級(jí)專家。長(zhǎng)期致力于昆蟲系統(tǒng)學(xué)與多樣性領(lǐng)域的研究，包括物種起源分化、形態(tài)進(jìn)化、分子進(jìn)化、防御腺進(jìn)化、昆蟲分泌物化學(xué)、區(qū)系分布格局與適應(yīng)性、種系發(fā)生和生物地理學(xué)等，以及家蠅工程生態(tài)養(yǎng)殖和昆蟲甲殼素及其衍生物研發(fā)等。迄今為止開拓性開展了中國(guó)20多個(gè)未知昆蟲科級(jí)類群的系統(tǒng)學(xué)研究，從進(jìn)化角度探索其種系形成和適應(yīng)進(jìn)化；在區(qū)域昆蟲地理區(qū)劃、昆蟲區(qū)系分布和昆蟲適應(yīng)性方面提出了一些新觀點(diǎn)；累計(jì)發(fā)現(xiàn)和命名昆蟲新分類單元1亞族、4屬、3亞屬、514種；主持各級(jí)各類科研項(xiàng)目73項(xiàng)（國(guó)家級(jí)34項(xiàng)，省部級(jí)20項(xiàng)，其他19項(xiàng)）；出版學(xué)術(shù)著作44部（主編14部，參編30部）；發(fā)表學(xué)術(shù)論文及科普文章501篇（SCI 近100篇）；獲得省級(jí)科技成果獎(jiǎng)8項(xiàng)（二等獎(jiǎng)2項(xiàng)，三、四等獎(jiǎng)6項(xiàng)）；指導(dǎo)的9項(xiàng)課外科技作品分別榮獲全國(guó)大學(xué)生“挑戰(zhàn)杯”科技競(jìng)賽獎(jiǎng)（一等4項(xiàng)、二等2項(xiàng)，三等2項(xiàng)），獲全國(guó)大學(xué)生“創(chuàng)業(yè)杯”競(jìng)賽銅獎(jiǎng)1項(xiàng)。
